Ben Berman is a lawyer at Egenberg, APLC. His practice focuses on helping people who have been hurt, whether in personal injury, property, civil rights, media/entertainment or other matters.

Mr. Berman, a New Orleans native, graduated cum laude from Tulane University School of Law, and received his undergraduate degree from Brown University. In law school, Mr. Berman was a member and web editor of the Tulane Law Review and a member of the Negotiation Moot Court team. On the Law Review, he won the Gertler Award for writing the best Case Note of the year.

Mr. Berman has not only been instrumental in achieving successful judgments and settlements for his clients at the trial court level, he has also written numerous winning briefs for the Courts of Appeals and Louisiana Supreme Court. At the Louisiana Supreme Court, Mr. Berman’s writing helped win an important victory in a “David vs Goliath” battle against one of New Orleans’ top corporate law firms. In the ruling in that case, the Supreme Court upheld Louisiana citizens’ rights to view the public records of organizations that receive contracts to perform essential government services.

Prior to law school, Mr. Berman worked for several years as an editor at OffBeat Magazine, a local publication dedicated to New Orleans and Louisiana’s music and culture. During that time, Mr. Berman interviewed countless musicians and was a member of the judge’s panel for the first years of the NOLA Hip-Hop Awards. Mr. Berman is an avid music lover, and makes time to provide legal services for many of his friends in the music business and arts world.
